Balancing Act

My work tries to find a sense of balance during a pandemic. The challenge is to make competing elements work together.  I first focus on drawing and then include various shapes and colors, integrating the different components into some type of harmony. The black and white or beige shapes speak to the contrasts in life and how they affect us. 

Each painting has a history of shapes added and subtracted repeatedly until a sense of balance is achieved--passionate and joyful and full of movement.
