As life swirls around me, I return to painting for joy and challenge. My paintings are influenced by the people I love, and the places I go. The mundane as well as the extraordinary events in my life contribute in distinct ways. I love chaos and color, yet each day, and each canvas, needs some sort of structure.
I am enamored with how the paint feels, the unexpected delights of what happens on the canvas, how colors work next to or near one another, how the oil paint dries, how it mixes when you hit a wet patch, what areas are hidden, and what is barely revealed. Painting is about discovery. I am always looking for something I haven't seen before.
